Brain Awareness Week is March 14-March 20

The Dana Foundation is dedicated to advancing understanding about brain health and illness through grants and public outreach. The foundation hosts presentations in order to foster prevention and strategies to promote mental health.

Roseann Petropoulos will offer a presentation “Brain Breaks for Overall Health” on Monday, March 14, 11am to 12 noon. Roseann will address the Body/Mind connection and how each supports the other. She will also provide information on the need to care for our brain, as we do other organs of our body. All may join in meditation and experience the calming of one’s body and mind.

Dr. Arthur Veilleux, PT will offer “Tame Your Pain” workshop on Saturday, March 19, 11am to 1pm, where he will give a modern explanation of pain. Where it comes from, how it changes, why it may come and go, and what it is telling us? At the completion of the workshop, all will be able to apply basic self-care principles to manage their pain.

Roseann Petropoulos is a Hypnotherapist and Reiki Master/Teacher. Her belief is that all healing comes from within. Dr Arthur Veilleux, PT has experience studying and working with people in pain. Events will be held at the Belmar Public Library, 517 10th Avenue and E Street. For more information, call 732.894.3197 or 732.681.0775.
