Have you ever felt like a ship wandering aimlessly in a fog-shrouded ocean? Does it feel sometimes that an anchor is attached to your ankle dragging you down? Is there so much murkiness on your path that it prevents the light, the joy and happiness from shining through to you?
For most of us, it is the hard times in life that lead us to grow. When we are sick and tired of being sick and tired, that is the moment we seek another way. Pain is our way of knowing something is wrong, and can be our enemy or our friend. It is all a matter of perspective. If we re-live the same thoughts of sadness, being held back and an inability to overcome some unknown emotion - day after day, it will continue to drain our energy each day.
Our society is growing more and more stressful. Many have been raised to be over- achievers, and winning at all costs is worn as a badge of honor. This is seen as an asset they bring to school, work and play – raising the bar and creating the new norm. However, for these high stakes individuals the first sign of not living up to winning causes anxiety. This fear overshadows everything else in life, driving many to be available 24/7. What’s more, exhausted individuals get to the point of not knowing what is good for others, or what is good for themselves. Our boundaries become foggy when we over extend, grab fast food on the run, play less or play hard and sleep less and wake up tired day after day.
Bad habits such as: Over compensating, over shopping, over eating, over drinking become the coping mechanics which harm ourselves. We may have bought into retail therapy to feel good, buying what we don't need and can't afford in an attempt to fill an internal hole. We try to lose weight and find we are on a weight loss – weight gain yo yo, feeding the empty heart. Or maybe new in a recovery program and live in fear of relapse to drown out the past. Maintaining this self-imposed, self-perfection thru will power only proves to be self-defeating. We get caught up in trying to manage the impossible at work, in our relationships with family and friends and in our own bodies, minds, hearts and souls. We become our worst self- enemy.
When we come to the place where we don't know which way to turn next, that is the time we are usually ready to make a change in what to do and where we need to go. So where we need to go is a place we have not thought of before this time.
Mindful Release and Create is a method which allows one to go within. In a safe and comfortable space, one can unfold when the belief was formed and how it was useful for a time. Release occurs when one is able to see the old habits of thinking attached to old beliefs that no longer serve them.
When something is removed it is necessary to replace it. The creation of a new habit that will benefit their life is very important. Change is difficult for most when it seems like walking off a cliff without a parachute. A facilitator of mindfulness will assist one in creating an emotional parachute as a means of leading the way to change from within. Each will be guided to visualize the life they choose. The internal emotional parachute will protect them as they glide in their own time and own pace to the future. There is no right or wrong way to proceed. A mindful coach knows that the client leads and paces the way. All vision comes from within the client’s imagination.
A mindfulness coach will bring the client to then feel from within themselves as if it already is. When one can actually feel it, then it becomes an internal and lasting as a way of life. The only constant in life is change. Just as nature finds balance from one season to the next, so are all humans capable of embracing change and balance. Release the darkness and create the goodness that is within us and all around us. May all being live Happy and Free.
